Eliane Aisso, Painter, Cotonou, 1989
Born on April 18, 1989 in Abomey-Calavi, Éliane AÏSSO discovered her love of drawing and color at an early age. She holds a master's degree in art history and is a graduate of the Studio National des Arts Contemporains de Fresnoy. Honing her skills through a series of residencies and workshops, she has a keen interest in women's empowerment and female leadership. Through her work, she raises awareness of education and respect for the laws of nature. Wood, canvas, nails, glue, water-based paint, fixative and cardboard are her materials of choice. Éliane AÏSSO often symbolizes difficulties, handicaps and jealousy with the color black. She exhibits her work in Benin, Senegal, Mali and France.
